Parents and Students;

Reminder the mass physical event is here at Merkel ISD on 5/12/26, during school hours.

The MS kids will be transported over for their designated time during school and they should all return before dismissal. The HS session will follow and we will prioritize any bus riders as first in line (please send me an email noting your child is a bus rider).

The cost for the physical is $25 and MUST be paid in cash ONLY. We can not accept any other form of payment. If your child comes without cash they will not be able to get their physical.

Merkel ISD requires a new physical every year for every student participating in the following activities: band; cheer; athletics. A physical is not required for PE or pre-athletic classes.

The UIL Physical form will be sent home tomorrow 5/7/26 with every student in the aforementioned groups, it is also attached below. Please note parent/guardian signature is required at the bottom of the first page, and the first page must have a complete medical history. Also, please fill in the students name at the top of the second page.

We will not be performing EKG or ECG heart testing. If you wish for that to be done on your child you will be required to make other arrangements and we can not clear the child until the test is performed and completed results with accompanying clearance are returned to the school. So please do not check the EKG/ECG box if you do not wish to have this test performed prior to your child being cleared.

More information will be posted tomorrow about RankOne and how to upload a physical that you get done on your own. Please DO NOT email any physicals completed outside of this mass physical event to any coach or myself, they must be uploaded and stored digitally to the RankOne site. The medical forms on RankOne will hopefully be available next week for completion.
